Each Piece is Unique
Each piece is individual and unique. I'm not harvesting trees to turn into blanks for bowls or tables. Most of the wood I use is wood that was destined for firepit or the dump. Occasionally I have come across something that has been sitting in someone's back yard or been stored in a warehouse for many years. I look at piece that I work with and its almost like a dialogue about what it wants to be. Then I start the creation process.
