I made this small hand turned walnut bowl from wood from my father in law’s collection.  He had collected many pieces of wood over the years that he was planning on turning.  Unfortunately, he did not get to make things from everything that he saved before he passed away.

Walnut is a highly sought after wood because of its color and its durability.  I feel lucky that a few pieces were in my father in law’s wood collection.  I have classified this walnut bowl as the extra small size for my collections.  It’s the perfect size to go on a dresser or a bookshelf.

I finished this small hand turned walnut bowl with Odie’s oil.  Odie’s oil is a natural food safe oil for wood finishing.
